Evaluation of short film

My topic was motion so i had a wide margin to work with, i wanted something with adrenalin, pace and excitement, my passion is motorcycling and i really enjoyed the chance to film myself riding, i have captured many different camera angles and this has produced a good example of motion, i have also included pictures but with an effect to add to the adrenalin, i have added timelapse and clips from other sources, i have chosen the song 'Coloris' by 'SHE' as this is a good quality soundtrack to match the mood of the short film, i chose a ride where i can get a great view bit also where there could be some traffic so that i can get a filtering shot in which i can then speed up, i went up to Bidborough ridge and filmed the A21 as that is a great view, the road is also very smooth the camera was relatively still, to counteract the negative effect road bumps i attached the camera to my crash helmet as my body absorbs all the bumps giving a smooth running film.

During editing i used a number of techniques including fad in and fade out to go with the flow of the film, i also used a function called ease in and ease out which rounds off the zooming. scrolling effect across some of the photos to stop them juddering, if i were to repeat this with more time i would have had a chase car and possibly another motorcycle to add to the excitement, the timing also wasn't the best as the time of year wasn't great weather for motorcycling, so i had to take it relatively slow.

Poster art

This is the Poster art pice which i have produced, i have used given materials and external items aswell

using photoshop i used these methods
  1.  Lasso tool to highlight the part of the image you want.
  2. Hue/Saturation, i needed to change the Hue of all images to change the colour and also degrade the quality to add noise to them.
  3. Burning, some images were overexsposed so i had to burn them to rectify this
here is the final print

Star trails

I wanted to take a few pictures using a camera timer unfortunately when i had it ordered it got delayed in customs so when it finally arrived i could only do a few shots with the lack of stars i had, i had to make my own neutral density filter out of a tinted piece of acrylic to limit  the light entering the shutter, these are the results

The shutter delay timer itself, made by Phottix

the star trail prints achieved both at 15 mins

Short Film

We have been making a short film in class, for my film i decided to go out on my motorcycle and film me riding from different positions as well as other motion clips chopped into the whole mix to make an impressive short film,

the camera i used was my Motorsports GoPro Hero HD camera,

i then strapped this camera to my motorcycle helmet using the provided mount, this finished article was similar to this:

this provided me with a great hands free way to record my motorcycling footage, the mount was also adjustable so could be altered even whilst riding, i think that my video will be good but will need some smoother editing to make it look more professional
