Toning

In photography, toning is a photographic process carried out on black and white photographic prints to change their colour.

In this lesson we used a choice of two toners, one was a sepia toner which make the print look dated and the other being a very deep blue.

  • The First Step was to soak each print of our choice in water for roughly one minute
  • Once fully saturated, soak the print in bleach for roughly two minutes (this only applies if sepia toning) if using the Blue toner bleaching isnt used as the bleach is mixed wih the toner
